This was a nice little stop before our road trip. It was quick to order and quick to come out hot! You could either grab it and go or sit down. I got a chorizo breakfast burrito with cheese and grilled onions, and it can def be split with someone, which I did with my friend. We easily had enough to eat even with it being split. The flavor of the chorizo was nice and we loved the tortilla on it. I wish I was able to finish one on my own because it was so good!

I was about to eat at Santana's Mexican food and I read the reviews and someone mentioned coming over to Nico's cause it was less than a mile away. Better prices better food so I did and I was not disappointed really good food. Good service good atmosphere.

Nico's has become my go-to spot for tacos and burritos. Their carne asada is tender and flavorful, and their homemade tortillas are a game-changer. Friendly service and a fun atmosphere too!

The burritos they provide here are a great bang for you buck: one of the cheaper locations in OB and the burritos are packed and huge. I order their carne asada burrito and carne asada fries. The burrito was full of ingredients and the meat incredibly crispy. I'd recommend skipping the carne asada fries though: the toppings were excellent but the fries were a bit too salty. The burritos are the main start of the show here. The service is also wonderful: everyone was very nice as I waited and also patiently helped answer other guests' questions. This location is cash only - there's an ATM inside that does have a steeper service but there are also ATMs on the same street if you don't have a card that covers ATM fees. This place is great for takeout - but there's also plenty of seating around if you want to dine in (though very limited space outside).

Okay wow!! This is defffff my kind of taco shop. Born &. Raised in SD so I'm super picky w taco shops @ this point in my life & im 33 yrs old lol but i was searching for a new spot && i usually go to the Nico's in OB so i was assuming this place must be sister ownership but this one is way better than the OB location... My only luck in taco shops truly has been in San Marcos or vista area..i judge a taco shop by their breakfast burrito, cali burritos, & carne asada fries.. i got the bacon/egg/potato burrito with no cheese ( bc i always eat lime & jalapeño, cheese throws off that citrus flavor that i crave) and Wowwwwww .. i never finish my burritos and this one was like no other. I haven't had something so good like this in idk how long.. its pretty hit or miss with me & taco shops , im actually super curious to try other stuff on their menu. There are so many taco shops but this taco shop reminds me of real deal.. the kind of taco shop u brag to the rest of the country/world lol!! One more thing I judge a taco shop is their hot sauce , & drink selection. I got a Mexican coke (coke in glass bottle) i loved how simple it was here. You also grab hot sauce/jalapeño yourself which is traditional style prior to COVID!! I appreciate that. Their habanero will blow your head off btw be care ful. Lastly, That was the best pickled jalapeño & carrots i have eveer had also, like PERFEction.. and bomb ass limes too... grateful for spots like this..
